Adventure Outreach Origin

Thoughts on the beginning of Adventure Outreach

It began baking beneath the scorching Philippine sun. On the outskirts of a bustling island city, in the middle of a mountainous sea of trash, our team gathered ...

We shuddered as children, half dressed, emerged from the crags of the garbage heap, clenching baggies, old paper cups, cut off bleach bottles, anything that resembled a container...

They descended upon us in a swarm...

We forced smiles through our tears as we ladled out fresh barley stew to a curious, famished, and forgotten people.

That memory filled with smells, sounds, and images had been neatly tucked away for 14 years. Easter 2009, amidst a backdrop of ocean, seagulls, worship, fresh fruit, and the aroma of warm bagels and Starbucks, Gods arrow found me.

On the edge of that  crowd choking back those same tears, the replay of that entire dump feeding scenario flooded my soul.

Today Adventure Outreach serves some of the basic  needs of those in that same dump and other like communities

Adventure Outreach is now partnering with our friends and their local ministries in these and similar villages in Palawan and Negros Oriental, Philippines. Thru these relationships we have established feeding programs that provide safe water, nutritious food, clothing, educational opportunities, and hope. We plan to minister in Haiti, Mexico, and Africa as resources provide.

and I do not want to send them away hungry, for they might faint on the way." Matt 15:32
